Edward Snowden has no new bombshells in this book, but 'Permanent Record' is still full of surprises in some ways. “Permanent Record,” is scheduled to be released Tuesday. Associated Press. Painter 11 for mac. By Eric Snowden

Book 8 of 2020

Quick background. I served in the Air Force for 8 years and have been working for the government since 2010 and have held the same TS/SCI clearance that Snowden had. I’ve had several polygraphs and background checks that were much more intense than what is described in the book.

I saw the movie, Snowden a while back and I didn’t think I liked it too much and pretty much sums up how I feel about this book and I’m not sure why. I guess maybe it’s because the mass surveillance doesn’t bother me as much as it did to him. I could careless if they do, it’s not like I’m doing anything wrong.

He also gives the government way too much credit. He makes it sound like they know everything about every individual. I made couple of significant errors oas I was filling my forms for background investigation to get my clearances and government to this day still haven’t figured it out. It’s an obvious one. Also, I’ve filled out several of these security background forms to multiple government agencies and it wasn’t until recently that they were able to see all of the previous forms. It was evident during the 9/11 that one of the main issue was lack of communication and that problem still exists to this day.

Summary

Do I think he should be charged? Yes, but punishment shouldn’t be that severe. I do hope that he could come to his home country one day and I’m guessing there will be a president in the future that will pardon him of his “crimes”. I’m not surprised at how easy these companies were able to sell products and ideas to the government. You would think government would hire really smart people to figure all of these out but the truth is, that’s not the case.

Permanent Record Snowden Book Review

Going back to the book, I think you have a pretty good idea just by watching the movie or if you’ve read the book, skip the movie.
